2. one that is dedicated and committed to the principles of teamwork, i.e. 11 = 1.
The Farmington Valley MudHogs football and cheer organization is a growing program comprised of youths from the surrounding towns of Farmington, Avon, Burlington, Harwinton, and Canton.
2014 Season News You Can Use!

Here is the latest news you can use on the 2014 season! If you have not yet registered, please make sure that you do! The more players we have registered before 8/11, the more efficient we can be! Also, a late fee goes into effect soon! If you register and/or pay after 8/14, you will be charged a late penalty! So, just do it-- register now at www.mudhogsfootball.com! It just takes a minute, and you can pay right online!
Cheer begins on August 11th at Union School at 6pm. We'll get to know each other each day the first week from 6-7:30pm Monday -Thursday for Squads A & B. C Squad will meet Monday - Thursday from 6-7pm.
We have 3 Squads:
A Squad is for 7th & 8th graders with regular practices meeting on Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays from 6-7:30pm.
B Squad is for 5th & 6th graders with regular practices meeting on Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays.
C Squad is for 2nd-4th graders with regular practices meeting on only Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-7pm while we are outside. Once we gain indoor gym access the time will shift to 5:30-6:30pm.
Your registration includes ALL needed cheer accessories, along with sneakers. We will measure for appropriate sizes in the first 2 weeks.
Flagis due to start on August 27, 29, Sept 5 at West Woods 6PM – 7PM
August 11, 12, 13, 14 all tackle and cheer will be at Union School 6PM – 7:30PM
Tackle Program Practice Schedule:
Saturday 8/16 Equipment will be handed out at the front right FHS parking lot (In front of the tennis courts) to the following schedule:
A Squad 9:00-10:00
B Squad 10:00-11:00
C Squad 11:00-12:00
**Players need to have practiced for 3 days and have all your registration forms in before receiving equipment. Players must be present to receive equipment to ensure proper fit.
Friday 8/15 the league draft will be held for all the tackle teams. During equipment handout on Saturday 8/16 we will post team assignments, or players will be told which team they are on at Monday's practice.
Players that missed the first week will be assigned to a team during the draft. Again, each player will need to have practiced for 3 days and have all your registration forms in before receiving equipment. We will be handing out equipment on a second date Saturday 8/23 11:00am – 12:00pm @ Roo Storage 610 New Britain Avenue, Farmington
Remaining Practice schedule:
· Week of 8/18 Monday-Thursday 6:00pm-7:30pm, A & B tackle squads report to Union School. C tackle squads report to West Woods School Farmington.
· Note: Wear your equipment if you received it. If you did not receive equipment then wear Tee Shirt, Shorts, and Cleats.
· Week of 8/25 Monday-Thursday 6:00pm-7:30pm A & B tackle squads will report to Union School. C tackle squads report to West Woods School Farmington.
· Week of 9/1 Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 6:00pm-7:30pm
A tackle squads will report to Union School practice field.
B tackle squads will report to Union School.
C Squad will report to West Wood school.
· Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 6:00pm-7:30pm for the remainder of the season.
A tackle squads will report to Farmington High School practice field beginning Sept 8
B tackle squads will report to Union School.
C Squad will report to West Wood school Football field.
Practice times will change back to 5:30 - 7:00 as daylight dictates. The games schedule will be handed out during practices. Games will be held on Sundays starting 9/7 and going until 11/9.
Eating is FUN! But, our friends at Cosi on Rt. 44 in Avon, have made it even more fun by holding a MudHog Day each month where a percentage of the days profits goes back to our awesome organization! So, feel free to eat without ANY guilt whatsoever!!! ...but only from 3PM til 9PM. ;-)
